[MOVIE] Confessions of a Shopaholic

As a lover of Kinsella's Shopaholic book series, I always wanted the movie as well. The series are enormously interesting with the main character of an out-of-the-ordinary girl. When I read certain parts on the book, I imagined it in my head. So I thought to see it on screen makes it that much better.
I remember when those filmmakers made Bridget Jones movie, it was just like the book - PERFECT!

To the Shopaholic movie, it seems to be nothing like the real book. They made some changes. Oh no, it's not only 'some' but they changed it a lot. A LOT. Reading the synopsis of the movie just made me depressed :(

Here is list of some parts I really concern about the movie:
- Isla Fisher plays as Rebecca Bloomwood. I don't really know her but after watching the movie trailer, I could say that she's good enough converting herself to be Becky.
- To my surprised, they made Becky as American. OMG, OMG!! How could they took Becky out from England? She is originally British.
- IMDB didn't reveal who plays as Luke Brandon. But seeing name of Hugh Dancy on the top list just made me disappointed. Hugh is a good actor but when I think he is going to be Luke, hmm I don't think he fits the character.
Luke Brandon supposed to get that charming and amused way: tall, attractive, and looks MIGHTY fine in a designer suit, but he can still be completely serious and business-like. And Hugh Dancy is just too nice and sweet. The only thing makes him like Luke is that he is British. Oh yeah, he is also well-educated (just like Luke), graduated from Oxford Univ.
- They made Suze, Becky's best friend, as an American-Africa or Puerto-Rican. How come? She supposed to be a girl from a very well off family in Scotland. She is definitely a blonde.
- Krysten Ritter plays as Suze. Krysten is really not like an American-Africa nor Puerto-Rican. Agree? :)
- They made Danny as Suze's boyfriend. Do you remember Danny on the book? He is GAY and doesn't even MEET Suze until after Becky and Luke get engaged in the 3rd book!

That's some points I remark from plenty references I read. Probably there will be another shocking point coming out when I see the movie :)
I will surely watch the movie. Hoping that even they changed the characters and some parts of the story, the movie remains interesting. Part of me sigh because I was looking forward for a London setting instead of New York.
We will see.

Awal 2009

sudah tahun 2009 rupanya
lama sekali saya "tertidur"
sampe kadang lupa hari
lupa tanggal
lupa berdoa kalo baru bangun
lupa sisiran kalo habis mandi
lupa sudah makan atau belum
lupa ngecek email
lupa bales sms
lupa bayar tagihan bulanan
lupa memindahkan ribuan foto2 lama dari kamera ke komputer
lupa punya banyakkk buku yang belum kebaca
lupa kalo punya blog yang lama ga keisi
*parah banget kan?

tapi untung saya belum lupa nama saya sendiri
belum lupa alamat rumah saya
belum lupa nomer telpon dan hp saya
belum lupa kalo saya punya suami
belum lupa kalo saya punya anak
belum lupa jadwal imunisasi anak saya
belum lupa janji2 saya sama beberapa teman
belum lupa kalo ADA yang selalu setia menjagai saya

terima kasih Tuhan Yesus
